Supporting the Citizen Learning Center to Empower Underprivileged Children

The Sohojogi Foundation has played a vital role in advancing SDG 4 – Quality Education through its sponsorship of the Citizen Learning Center (CLC) at Kalshi, Dhaka. By providing financial and logistical support, the Foundation enabled the establishment of a safe, inclusive, and nurturing space for underprivileged children in the Kalshi slum. Its contribution ensured access to early childhood and primary education for over fifty children who otherwise lacked learning opportunities. The Foundation supported the center’s operational expenses, teacher recruitment, and distribution of learning materials, including school bags, books, and stationery. Beyond academics, Sohojogi’s support helped organize cultural programs, civic education sessions, and community festivals strengthening moral values and social inclusion among students. The Foundation’s assistance also contributed to volunteer retention and improvement of classroom facilities, enhancing both engagement and attendance. Its partnership promoted gender balance, ensuring equal participation of boys and girls in all classes. This promotes the SDG – 5 Gender Equality initiatives. By backing such a community-driven learning initiative, Sohojogi Foundation demonstrated a model of sustainable social responsibility where education directly supports empowerment, equity, and resilience. In doing so, the Foundation not only advanced SDG 4 & SDG 5 but also fostered community transformation through compassion, partnership, and practical action.
